A Short Synopsis of My Experiences Traveling With
Agape in Action in Africa

By Michael Carr

I feel myself privileged to have been able to make a recent visit to Kenya with a team of brethren and sisters from Canada and Australia on behalf of Agape in Action. The warmth and fellowship of the brethren and sisters that I met there was truly amazing and to have seen many of the challenges that they and their families face each day was a humbling experience.

One area that I found to be very rewarding was to be working at the Mwandeo Ecclesia with a number of brethren from the ecclesia building school furniture for the children there. We were able to manufacture out of left-over lumber from the recent school construction a series of benches and desks which proved to be of great assistance to the children as up to that point they had been balancing their schoolbooks on their knees. As electrical power was not available we laboured with limited hand tools and the days were very hot, not hot possibly by Kenyan standards but certainly for myself being use to more moderate temperatures in Canada. It was a privilege to serve with the brethren in Mwandeo and below is a picture of the team with some of the fruits of our labours. “In all labour there is profit” Prov. 14 :23.
