Widow’s Project
We hope to pilot a widow’s project in Western Kenya
starting January 2010. The older young people that are living in
Kimbilio will be part of a program implementing care for the elderly
and widows in their ecclesia and communities.
Atashinda
We are so thankful to God for the response of all those who stepped
up to help these young people in Kenya. They now have an opportunity
to go to high school or to learn a trade.
We are thrilled to let you know that we have been able to recruit
sponsors for ALL of the young people that we had on the list for
a January 2010 start. Come January, there will be 29 young people
starting high school and about 15 starting trades!
Together with the 2009 cohort, there are 73 young people benefitting
from this program. This program is critical in enabling a generation
of young people support themselves, their families and their ecclesia’s.
Thank-you so much for your generosity. Now to start on the next
year’s list...

SUSTAINABILITY MODELS
We are working towards our nursery schools in Kenya becoming
self sufficient and sustainable. Sustainability projects will be
put in place in January 2010 God willing. It is our goal that in
5 years the schools will be fully sustainable. Local AinA representatives
are putting together project proposals including the growing and
marketing of vegetables, chicken rearing, dairy, etc. The schools
will engage the children and the income generated will be used to
cover the schools running costs allowing sponsorship funds to move
to a new Christadelphian school in the area. God willing, support
for income generating activities will continue to grow and involve
guardians of sponsored children.
We hope to build onto the India Faith home
There will be a room for the boys, a room for the boys, a
common area (for eating, homework & play) and a toilet facility.
This is planned for May 2010 - if you would like to donate to this
building project we are currently trying to raise the funds for
this. The children are currently sleeping on the roof of the house
all of them together and eating and doing homework outside.
Kenya
A team of 10 from Canada, the USA and Australia will be heading
to Kenya in the second half of January to implement several projects
and conduct a youth conference for the young people at Kimbilio.
