Tour D'Agape 2010

The first Tour D’Agape Down Under bike ride is being organised for

Saturday 20 March 2010.

This is a 120km Coast to Coast ride from Glenelg to Victor Harbor that fundraises money for the charity Agape (love) in Action (AinA). This is an amazing opportunity for us to get involved, be active and really put our ‘love into action’ as we have been commanded (1 John 2:16-18).

About AinA
AinA is a Christadelphian charity registered in Canada and the USA and also with a large sponsorship base in Australia. They currently work in Kenya, Uganda and India. AinA provides a simple way for individuals within our community to help each other. Through Agape in Action you can sponsor a child, sponsor a project such as a nursery school or children’s home, support clean water and health projects, and contribute to life saving medicines and medical care.

Last year 5 Canadian riders raised just under $4,200 and the money was put toward hygiene kits, water development programs and high school education. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for AinA! This will go towards building a floor onto the India Faith Home. At the moment the couple that are looking after the home are accommodating the 13 children in their own house. There isn’t room there so the kids are currently sleeping on the roof on mats and eating and doing homework etc outside. When it rains they cram into the house and pull up a bit of floor space. AinA would like to build a level onto the facility with two rooms (one for the boys and one for the girls), a common area for eating, homework etc and a toilet facility. AinA would like to build this in May 2010 and so we need to raise funds for this project.

There are many ways to get involved!

A) BIKE!! There will be 3 different categories. 1 – Veteran rider, 2 – Intermediate rider, 3 – ‘A Nice Roll’ ride.

B) SUPPORT STAFF – We need people to help drive support vehicles, organise drinks for the riders, help with administration work and assist in any other way possible.

C) SPONSOR – Tour D’Agape needs its veteran & intermediate riders to raise money for the trip which can be done online or through the individual riders. Any amount helps – a little goes a long way!

D) GET SPONSORS – Help the riders by helping them to get sponsors to support the cause.

E) PEOPLE TO SPREAD THE NEWS – Talk about Tour D’Agape with others and get people excited about helping and sharing God’s love in all things.

All proceeds from participant registrations will be donated to Agape in Action. Your entry fee will be payable upon registration.
